Hollow tine

Our Lawnpecker manual aerator is the professional tool you shouldn't be without for your optimal garden care. Thanks to the hollow tines you can either very effectively perform a soil exchange, i.e. remove the old soil and then fill it with sand or suitable soil without any problems, or leave it open to let nutrients, air and water get to the roots. Thanks to the collecting trough, you don't need to collect the remains of the earth and the excavated material doesn't fall back into the holes made during aeration.

Hollow tines

When should you choose the Lawnpecker with 2 hollow tines and when should you choose the variant with 3 tines? There is a distance of 2 inch / 5 cm between the 3 tines. This makes it possible to aerate at very close intervals. The 2 tines are about 4 inch / 10 cm apart. We recommend the 2 hollow tines for very heavily compacted soils because the effort increases with the number of tines.
The hollow tines are 3,5 inch / 9 cm long and made of stainless steel. The tips are made of nitrated steel, which makes the tines extremely durable. This means that stony soils and roots don't bother the Lawnpecker. In a special process, the hollow tines are given a conical shape, which allows the ejection into the collecting trough.
Permanently crimped to the base plate, they guarantee a secure hold.

0,8 inch / 20 mm Hollow tine:

  • We recommend the 0,8 inch / 20 mm hollow tine for dense soils and clay soils.
  • The large tines allow particularly effective drainage and ventilation of your lawn. The subsequent filling with sand can also be done effortlessly
  • Suitable for all surfaces
  • The conical shape of the spoons prevents the excavated material getting stuck
  • Please note: the outer diameter is 0,8 inch / 20 mm, the diameter at the cutting tips is 0,6 inch / 16 mm due to the taper

0,6 inch / 16 mm Hollow tine:

  • With the slim tines, the holes are small and barely visible, so the tines hardly damage the sod
  • We recommend the 0,6 inch / 16 mm hollow tines for sandy soils and for light compaction. With loamy soils, it quickly clogs.
  • The conical shape of the tines prevents the excavated material getting stuck
  • Please note: the outer diameter is 0,6 inch / 16 mm the diameter at the cutting tips is 0,5mm / 12 mm because of the taper

1 inch / 24 mm Hollow tine:

  • due to the large diameter of the 1 inch / 24 mm hollow tines, a particularly effective soil exchange is possible, which is useful for very clayey soils
  • the diameter of 1 inch / 24 mm guarantees that the excavation does not get stuck and is therefore also suitable for wet, clayey (sticky) and very hard soils
Do you need a shorter tine because you don't want to damage things laid under the lawn like robot cables, water pipes and mole nets? Then maybe you'd be interested in our adapter kit for hollow tines.
